Epidemica: A Platform for Experimental Epidemiology Using High-Resolution Contact and Behavioral Data

ABSTRACT
In this talk I will introduce Epidemica, a novel platform for conducting open-world experimental epidemic games through smartphone-based applications and will describe the new Epigames app made with Epidemica. Built on the lessons learned from the Operation Outbreak project, Epidemica enables the collection of proximity, behavioral, and decision-making data in real-world settings. I will show a selection of datasets generated with the Operation Outbreak and Epidemica projects in the last 3 years, including the high-resolution contact network from an epidemic game ran at the International Pandemics Sciences Conference in Oxford last week.
