The Hard Problem of Epidemiology

ABSTRACT
Modeling the feedback loop that intertwines human behavior and infectious diseases can be considered as the hard problem of Epidemiology. In this context, I will introduce, discuss, compare, and contrast different approaches found in the literature to tackle the challenge. I will draw from both pre and post COVID-19 Pandemic examples discussing some of the mathematical and computational details.
