CSS/Italy 2019 is the First Italian Regional Conference on Complex Systems, organized by CSS/Italy to promote the dissemination of Complexity Science and interdisciplinary scholarly exchange for complex systems researchers and practitioners in Italy. Held in the Center for Information and Communication Technology at Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento, from 1st to 3rd July 2019, the conference will focus on cutting edge research topics with high societal impact from the perspective of Complexity Science.

ISI Foundation will join CSS/Italy 2019 with several researchers. ISI Research Leader Daniela Paolotti is among the invited speakers: monday morning (July 1st, 11.00, Sala Stringa) she will present “It takes a village - How collaborations in complex systems and data science for social good can make a difference”. The talk will cover examples of how actors from different entities can join forces around data and knowledge to create public value with an impact on global societal issues and set the path to accelerate the harnessing of data science for social good.

ISI Research Leader Giovanni Petri will give a contributed talk about “Homological connectivity dynamics” (July 2nd, 16.24, Sala Stringa), while ISI Student Maddalena Torricelli will join the poster session (“Temporal network embedding for the estimation of spreading process outcome”, co-authored with ISI Research Leader Laetitia Gauvin and Márton Karsai).
