In this talk we will discuss the way an equilibrium state emerges out of an isolated system evolving deterministically (and unitariliy) according to the law of quantum mechanics. This equilibration process is a crucial step in the approach of thermal equilibrium. We will provide the general framework in which the  mechanisms of "unitary equilibration" must be placed  and describe our latest results in this direction.
