The soft consensus model is a dynamic complex system that, despite its straightforward formulation, exhibits non-trivial emergent properties arising just from the minimization of a cost function that combines a collective measure of dissension with an individual mechanism of opinion changing aversion.
The exact dynamics and properties however, aren't yet fully understood; in this talk, I'll present the results of the analysis we conducted using standard tools from complex networks theory, and provide some "food for thought" regarding possible new applications.
